Sometimes, the Lovelab’s field work can be difficult. Here, Lovelab researcher F. Donahue trawls for pelagic juvenile rockfishes in the Santa Barbara Channel. Looking back on that day, Mr. Donahue says, "Gosh, yes, I remember that. I was out of promethazine, the peanut butter sandwiches were soggy, the electronics were giving me trouble and the trawl lines kept tangling around the prop. It was just a bad day."
